A 2021 survey by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks revealed that 85% of Montanans believe grizzly bears are integral to the state's identity, with 81% appreciating their existence even without direct sightings. Additionally, 80% recognize grizzlies' importance to ecosystem health.
